George Hewitt reviews the opening episode of Torchwood Among Us 2

The second boxset of Among Us opens with a story that takes Orr on a mission to Voloshnik to find out what’s been going on in this strange, abandoned city.

Samantha Béart shines as Orr in this story, showcasing a different side to the character and building up a strong rapport with Amy Beth Hayes‘s Tania. The two are together for the majority of the episode, and their relationship is written and performed excellently, ensuring both characters are believable.

This episode tackles themes such as the anti-vax movement and forgotten war, both of which feel very prescient at the moment. The story explores these themes carefully and maturely, never feeling in-your-face or over-the-top but instead presenting nuanced, justified points of view.

While Propaganda feels very different from the first Among Us boxset, and with the inclusion of only one member of Torchwood, it sets up what could be a unique set of stories in this second volume, while also referencing and tying together some of the plot points from the first set.

It’s unclear so far how aspects of this episode will fit into the wider Among Us arc, but if the rest of the episodes match this one in quality it’s sure to be a success.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
